The ARRA1 compliant DAX Family of Discrete/Analog I/O Extenders offers easy expansion for large and growing I/O networks

Bellevue, Washington, USA —Data-Linc announced today release of the wireless DAX Family of I/O extenders- an upgraded version of the popular DDAA10002- that are ideal for fixed or mobile installations. The 900 MHz DAX6400 and the 2.4 GHz DAX6500 offer 12 bit analog resolution to ensure that the data collected at the input is relayed and reported with greater precision to the output Master. Each DAX a total of 24 independent points- eight discrete inputs and eight discrete outputs, as well as four analog inputs and four analog outputs. The wireless component combines the I/O extender with Data-Linc 's SRM industrial grade modems for ranges up to 25+ miles (40 km) for 900 MHz DAX6400 and up to 10 miles (16 km) for the 2.4 GHz DAX6500. The DAX was designed for flexibility. Any unit may be configured as Master, Remote, Repeater or Repeater/Remote- reducing “backup spare” inventory costs. Additionally, it offers pluggable terminal blocks so any change-out can be accomplished without needing to change each individual wire. With the flexible configuration and the pluggable blocks, should any unit need to be replaced, the procedure is simple and straightforward, reducing maintenance costs and expensive downtime. A wired DAX/EXP Expansion Remote version without the radio module is also available. Each DAX Remote can be wire connected to DAX/EXP expansion unit Remote via RS232 or RS485 wiring. This permits I/O point expansion at or near a wireless DAX Remote location. The DAX I/O system can meet the challenge and provide cost-effective reliable solutions for I/O applications.
